Hey all! Well, today I headed into the city to tape some web-isodes for Food Network. Did you watch the Ultimate Recipe Showdown this year? Well, it's back soon and just like I did earlier in the year for Next Food Network Star, I'm doing all of the viewing parties. These are 5 minute shows that will air online right after the show airs on television. It's me and guests and we watch and then just chat about the show and what we thought about the recipes.
So, for the first URS Viewing Party my guests were Food Network Kitchen Manager, Katherine Alford, a judge on the show and Robyn, a viewer from right here in New York. I actually was in the kitchens when they were filming this, so to be a part of the viewing party brings it all full circle. When the shows begin to air, I'll give you links and a heads up to all the goings on, but this post isn't about that ....
When I met Robyn today, the first thing she told me was my "last blog post was on December 10th!!", she said it like she meant it! ... in a bad way :-). She's right ... I have been gone a bit during this month. I told her why and she gave me a pass, but I still feel wack. I blog during certain times of the day usually and with a recent occurrence, that time of the day got totally eaten up with a really important task I had to handle. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though and really did need the time to handle it.
Anywho, I know that I have time this week to throw some stuff up, so Robyn ... thanks for the gentle prodding :-) ... you are right, it's been a minute! Here's me Robyn and Katherine about to watch the first episode of the new Ultimate Recipe Showdown.
We really had such a good time talking, you'd think all of us gossiped regularly. I was really trying to figure out how we would comment on a show about recipes without even eating them, but we did. It's amazing what you can tell by a description, plus Katherine tasted everything so her being a part of the show was integral. Also, thanks to my greed while in the kitchens when they were taping, I actually tasted some of the dishes too ... being a glutton pays off, eh? Ok, well just wanted to stop in and say posts are on the way!
Hope everyone is staying warm and getting some time off for the holidays!
P.S. OMG, it just hit me ... what if I spelled Robin wrong??? If I did ... forgive me girl :-) ...

Hi Sunny,
My goodness...I guess you took my prodding to heart! I had the time of my life today with you and Katherine chatting about the upcoming season of URS. Thanks for making me feel so comfortable and for the tour of Food Network (totally amazing)! I'm happy to see you're back at the blog and look forward to your new posts! BTW: it is Robin with a "in" not "yn" at the end but who cares, I'm over the moon that you wrote my name period (you should be getting a lot of blog hits soon - I've called everyone I know LOL). Have a great Christmas & Happy New Year!! See you soon...Robin
OH looks like fun. And yea - I know you're a superstar and all - so I just attributed your being absent to being busy. It's cool! Hope you're having a really good holiday season!
Right on Sunny! And right on Robin! Sorry I don't know Katherine, but I'll bet y'all had a blast.
You know, it's funny. I was only in New York for a whirlwind 5 days and 4 nights. And in that short time, I feel like I made some friends, right there in Chelsea Market. *big sigh*
I met Robin there, and so many others. Sunny, I saw you, but just never did walk across that crowded room to say hello. Next time, right?
Enjoy your URS viewing parties! Wish I could be there ....
*smiles*
robin, i did! you were like the lil voice in my head that was already saying i needed to get back to normal. can't wait for the next taping! maybe i can see about us both going to that warehouse of dishes!
dtdub, teeheehee, you always gas me up. how u been? i want you to meet my girl that just moved there. she needs a tour by a tastemaker ... send me your email.
lana, well next time say hi! even if i look busy, i don't bite, i chew :-)
I don't know of a single blogger that doesn't know how you feel about the lack of posting. I had mine not too long ago and who knows when it may happen again. One thing for sure is that I'm sure it will happen. But hey, you are kinds of busy right now and I totally understand.
In case you don't get to post again this week, Merry Christmas!
Sunny, You are fabulous! I would love to take a field trip with you to the secret warehouse of dishes! I can't even begin to tell you how much your kindness means to me. Have a wonderful holiday...See you soon!
Robin
Lol, Sunny. Shoot, I'm not afraid of a lil bite, nor a even chew now and then, haha. I was just pretty overwhelmed with just about everything on my visit out there. So much to see and do.
Btw, I live in Idaho. You were here for the Potatoes episode of How'd That Get on My Plate, is that right?
complaint dept. mgr., heyyyy!!! you beat me to it! i was gonna stop by and tell you happy holidays yesterday, then got busy thinking about lasagna. hope you have a great break from what ever it is that can ail a complaint dept mgr. :-)
robin, back atcha, you don't have to be nice to me either :-) ... happy holidays
lana, well i can understand. i've been there many times before and after my start on the network, very overwhelmed and actually i find myself walking a thin line of fan and co-worker as i grow there, so i know how you feel ...
Awww, I look forward to you posting on a more regular basis but I know how it is. We're all crazy busy and there just never seems to be enough hours in the day.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas and some non-stopping eating. I know I will. :)
