Memorial Day with GMA!

Hey all! Just some quick news ... 1st, stay tuned for my blog about what I learned on vacation ... yes, I just got back from vacation!

And 2nd ...

This Monday catch me on Good Morning America for some Memorial Day eats! Looks like it should be in the last hour of the show, so somewhere between 8AM est and 9AM est. I'm making some good grillin' food and refreshments as well!

As an Army Brat and Air Force veteran from a huuuuge military family, I hope everyone takes some time to think about the people that work hard to protect our freedom. Memorial Day isn't all about sales and picnics. Have a great weekend with your family and hope to see ya this Monday!

Dear Sunny , I think it is so awesome that you are going to be on GMA. I just love your show. You have become my favorite Food Network personality . because you are just too entertaining and most probably the cutest of all the stars on Food Network . I would love to be able to get an autographed picture. Cheers and I hope you have continued success.

Sunny! I'll definitely be checking you out on Monday. Just wanted to hit you up and let you know that I tried that Cucumber drink and OMG it was so good. It tasted sort of melony and delicious and has me thinking of all sorts of variations to make to it. I posted some pictures on my blog and all my friends at work were so interested. Good luck Monday. Keep that smile and positive energy coming! hehe

Ciao I enjoy the show Sunny especially the episode when yous made the Lime Italian ice. I'm currently knee deep in the p90x weight training system. Could you make a show in the future episodes based on a great cuisine for people currently on fitness programs.

If I'm not busy running errands for the family get together tomorrow I will definately check out your appearance on GMA. Ahh Saluddddd

Hi Sunny, I watched you on GMA this morning, you did great. I'm gonna have to try that marinade! We miss you here in Detroit, but happy to be able to share you with the rest of the world! Continue to be blessed.

capito, thanks! i love catchin the italian ice man in the summer. i'm not a super health foodie type cook (as you can tell by my curves, i like em), but i do know some healthy meals and recipes i use whenever i feel like being a lil healthy. i'll slip some good stuff in the next time i tape :-).

staci, yaaaay! thanks! the marinade is tha biz. great for garlic lovers. hope you like it! i miss detroit! plaka, coneys and belle isle! all of it! thanks for following me to tv land, much appreciated.

Grazzi Sunny I will be tuning in to make sure I record the episode. I need more variety for my meals an your the expert on cooking. Who better to ask than yous. Where I'm from the curves on women mean yous are super healthy :-). Hope you have a great day. Will you be writing a recipe book one day?

Ciao, Carmine

carmine, hope you see it! and ita on the curves man! i come from a place where the last thing you want to think about on your death bead is maybe you should've been skinnier lol ... curves are good and i'm glad to have em in my life!

Ciao Sunny

I tried that New Orleans french toast recipe this morning for breakfast since I have a non workout day...Fuggedaboutit..it was real good. the strawberries an pecans which are healthy..were a good change to have. They need to add that to the menu at the Peter Pan diner I go to out on Long Island.

Sunny Anderson said...

carmine, yaaaay! glad you liked it ... although some would argue how healthy sugar soaked berries are teeheehee ... i bet there's a spot on lon-Gisland that has somethin close :-)

Capito said...

yeah it was a good change up from having high protein oatmeal 5 days a week..haha..I used stevia which is a healthy sweetener alternative to keep from using refined sugar..I'm thinking of growing my own mini garden..Do you have a garden?

Sunny Anderson said...

carmine, ahhhh the breakfast of champs! oatmeal! i love oatmeal! you gotta find the truvia sugar sub, it is pretty good. i use it in my coffee at home. and yessss i have a garden, look in my recent history and click on the tags for "garden", all the posts will pop up.

Capito said...

Ciao Sunny

yes I love oatmeal too I combine it with about 1/3 cup of oat bran makes it thicker. I get fiber an complex carbs great energy after eating a bowl. I will try that Truvia next time I go shopping. Grazzi for telling me about it. How was your weekend? I spent mine down the Jersey shore. a

also, I'm going to check out your garden posts right now.

Sunny Anderson said...

carmine, yeah i saw the truvia commercials and thought i'd give it a try, finally found it and it isn't bad at all ... less aftertaste and the granules look like sugar. and you know when people ask for food to go in their green rooms before taping a show? my basic request is always oatmeal :-). i found out i had to ask for a bowl too after the first run of shows lol ... i kept having to eat it out of a cup. now i'm all bowled up! teeheehee ....

Capito said...

Buon Giorno Sunny...tried that truvia it is good..taste just as good as stevia..well I have ya's to thank for introducing that to me..no medicine type aftertaste at all ahh salud..haha

ahh oatmeal before the show no wonder your so pumped up I tell people all the time to try to get in the oatmeal an it's a natural energy an will fill you up an hold you down until lunch..

I checked out your garden posts that is an amazing looking garden how are the veggies looking now?

Sunny Anderson said...

carmine, pretty good eh? and yeah, a big bowl of oatmeal starts me off really nice and on the mornings i wanna be a flunky, i get a croissant with jelly and butter from the deli downstairs in the chelsea market. veggie pics on the way ... had some radish duds that look funny!

Capito said...

the croissant's from the Chelsea market are good..I always go to Buon Italia at the market to get a ton of organic pasta and a few jars of nutella to add to the cannoli's I make sometimes for friends sprinkle the little bit of chocolate chips on it MADONNE haha...can't wait to see the veggie pics when you add them!

San Gennaro Festival is coming up before you know it ask Food Network to do a live show from there an of course yous host it an check out the different vendors with the diff foods an pastries I predict one highly rated show haha

Sunny Anderson said...

carmine, the san gennaro fest is best enjoyed without a tv camera, so i can pig out lol!!! i have a show on the way that i filmed earlier this year that features great summer eats and most of it is outdoors ... i almost never got a full meal! it was eat, talk about it and run to the next place! hope you enjoy the fest!

SUNNY, God belss you. I watched your show last week about making the perfect rice. Last night 6/21 i did it and my husband loved it to the point where he ate 2 plates of rice. I truly mean it: God blss you and thank you!!!!!!!!MIAMI, FL, My husband loves Haitian Food.

Sunny Anderson said...

anonymous, wow, thanks so much! some people see my method and say "whaaaaaa?" and there are skeptics, but the thing is i learned this method from an asian woman that made rice every single day of her life. many people in the asian community do the thumbnail trick, it's faster and who needs to measure these days??? i am sooooo happy you liked the tip, tried it and it worked! rinsing the rice before cooking is so important too if it's starchy. thanks so much for watching and i'm glad you found my blog! i hope you enjoy the shows on the way!

Capito said...

ciao sunny how have you been?...can't wait to see the summer eats show I hope I didn't miss it..been pretty busy back from Florida...July 4th coming up...Are you preparing some grilling recipes?

I look forward to the fest every year I miss the scones an cannoli's I haven't had one for months since I'm currently weight training

Sunny Anderson said...

carmine, been pretty busy, but getting a teeny break before the storm! summer eats hasn't aired yet, but soon. hope you like it when you catch it! and good luck on the wgt training! i'm doing a teeny bit of walking to make sure all my heavy summer eating doesn't stay on me forever!
