That's me at the VIP Dinner. Each year they ask me to come out as a surprise guest during a jillion course meal. I always ask to look at the menu before I choose what I'm making so it's not a train wreck on the tongue. This year I made my Quick Apple and Sweet Potato Soup. It's great hot or cold, but that night it was great not even made ... lol. The heat on the burner just wasn't cutting it, so I walked through the steps and then walked through the crowd. Some people watch Food Network Star and they say things like contestants not getting all the equipment or ingredients for a challenge would never happen and I say it happens all the time. It's no biggie if you ask me, the show must go on!! Ok, here's half of the VIP crew ...
Then, just like last year, there were these really cool angle-perspective wall drop thingys lol ... click the link and see the ones that were still here this year. This one below was the only new addition, totally had to take the pic!
Then, Saturday night after the Sunset Sliders party I headed over to my other shin-dig Sweet and Stylish, take a look at the crowd...

Had no idea Atlantic City has it's own food and wine festival too. Los Angeles needs one too! Hopefully you and the Neeleys would come out!
I love that show-must-go-on attitude! It sounds like you made the most of a serious challenge (the malfunctioning burner) and managed to have a blast! I feel like most people would have written a post that's all about how horrible it was to go to an event and be unable to make your big dish, but instead, it's just one minor blip in an otherwise amazing day. Your perspective is so refreshing.

Hi Sunny, Atlantic City weekend was wonderful. Had a blast at Sunset Sliders, but the Sweet and Stylish was the greatest. You did a swell job and everyone had a blast, especially our birthday boy, Pat Neely and the FNS's too. I do have some pics I could share, you do have my email address on the card I gave you so maybe you could use that then I will have a way to get the pics to you. Not sure how else to do it. I had a great time all weekend at the Atlantic City Food & Wine Fest. You are a wonderful host...mixing with everyone at Sunset Slider and providing very funny commentary at Sweet & Stylish. Your BBQ Pork Slider was one of my favorite bites of the festival.
